Defying Expectations in Midlife with Kirstie Smolenski

Today I have the pleasure of introducing my good friend Kirstie Smolenski. She is a multifaceted woman juggling various roles and pursuing new educational endeavours at 56. Her journey emphasises the importance of taking action, embracing change, and seizing opportunities for personal growth and reinvention. As you’ll hear in our chat, Kirstie continues to defy the expectations around her, so listen in as we chat about:

Reminiscing about how she was actually one of the shyest kids you could ever come across and how different that is today.

How she has stood firm in her professional career, even when others didn’t believe in her.

Caring for her ageing and sick father with young children and how that defined a lot of her journey.

Going back to study later in life, in a completely different direction to what she thought was possible.

How running for local council and as an independent in the last election was a huge learning curve and recognising what the community needs and the old-fashioned ways that still remain within the political scene.

Kirstie is a great example of don't just complain about it, do something about it and be the change you want to see in life. I encourage you to follow Kirstie on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/kirstie_smolenski_/ and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=kirstie%20smolenski.
